01.31.11 - New Journey

Well, it's my first blog post...ever. Let me first introduce you to my family (you will need to know names when I mention them in future posts if you don't know us already).

My wife, Misty, is simply the most amazing person who has ever walked into my life. I can't tell you in words how much I truly love this wonderful woman of God. She is my rock and my best friend....the one I can always go to and share my most intimate thoughts and I know she will be there to listen to me and comfort me when I need it. Without her, this family would be nothing.

Colby is our oldest child. He turned 3 years old today! Colby is Misty made over....just a beautiful spirit. He is the most thoughtful and caring little boy you will ever meet.

Connor is our middle child. He is 19 months old and doesn't have a care in the world. Tender-hearted would be an understatement for him. He can rope you into anything he wants just by looking at you with those big eyes and that smirky smile.

Chyler is the youngest of our children, and the only girl. She is 3 months old and is simply the most beautiful creature God has ever created. She already has everyone (including her brothers) eating out of the palm of her hand.

Add three dogs in the mix and we have a house full. God has truly blessed us with each other and I couldn't ask for anything more. The big Gouge family is also right in the middle of a major life change. God has called us into the ministry and we are now part of the King's Cross Church family in Tullahoma, TN. I currently hold the Minister of Worship position there. To say that the transition from our former life in Franklin, NC was smooth and easy is anything but accurate! It has really been tough on us, but we keep pressing on. God never said that His work was easy. The flip side of all this is the church family. The people there are AMAZING! Truly some of the most caring and wonderful people you will ever meet. Great things are in store at KCC and I am proud to be a part of it.

We celebrated Colby's birthday this weekend with mine and Misty's parents (check out The Gouge Family Blog at http://www.thegougefamily.blogspot.com for upcoming details from the weekend). It was really great to have all the family here to help us out with the kids and just for some good family time. Misty and I couldn't ask for better parents.

I hope this blog post finds each of you who read it, well. I will try my best to update as much as possible and I look forward to any comments you leave. Before I close, I want to ask each of you simply to pray for our family. Transition is never easy and we most definitely can't do it on our own. God is showing us now more than ever that we HAVE to rely on Him and to let Him lead our lives. We do miss our friends and family back in Franklin, NC and we hope to see you soon. We also are looking forward to the new friendships that await us here (we have already made several).

  1. I have been wondering how you all have been doing living back in Tennessee (even tho you still aren't any closer to "home.") I know we haven't been as close as we used to be but I still love you and look up to you. I'm very proud of you for what you have accomplished and know that you will do perfect in this new job/move. Love you very much and will be thinking and waiting to hear about the new excitements coming your way. Love you bunches.
